Precise manoeuvring and the increased safety on the world’s waterways to which it contributes are becoming increasingly important for people, the transportation of goods and the protection of the environment. Voith Turbo Marine has dedicated itself to this task for the past 80 years, ever since it developed and began to build a unique ship’s propulsion and steering system, the Voith Schneider Propeller.
The Voith Water Tractor has created a safety concept for pushing and escorting tasks that, together with the vessel’s hull geometry and driveline, ensures that optimum assistance can be provided to other ships. This has in the meantime been confirmed by the Environmental Protection Authority in Alaska, which has granted the Voith safety concept its BAT (Best Available Technology) classification.
Other examples of the innovative power of Voith Turbo Marine are the new Voith Cycloidal Rudder, the Voith Turbo Fin and the company's entry into the Offshore Supply Vessel market.
